Some I've read say wait until a yr old before hatching- we did that - I think we had done a couple who weren't a year yet but were laying standard eggs for their breed and they came out fine- guess it's up to you on when you feel comfortable doing it -
I'd give them time - if they just started laying they are still growing in the egg laying department- I wouldn't advise trying to hatch any yet for sure tho -
It does take a while before eggs are actual size- some of ours started at the end of July and they still are laying small eggs- once in while someone will lay the proper size then go back to laying small- it also depends on breed I think- hard to say on exact time tho each is different 2 months...
