Reasons Why You Shouldn't Keep Just One Goose

@Pyxis to answer your question. Yes, a goose would probably be happier with another goose that acts and lives how they live. However, if they bond with chickens and or humans...this being the only way of life for them. They can be happy living this life-- not knowing any other way.

Reasons Why You Shouldn't Keep Just One Goose

I think a point worth touching on @Pyxis is that we don't know what Metzer farms does or doesn't do or what experience they have with chickens and geese. We don't know if they have a flock of chickens at their home with a single goose or not. Or what other customers through the years have shared...

Reasons Why You Shouldn't Keep Just One Goose

@Pyxis For now I will have to respectfully agree to disagree with you. A goose is happy with whom it can imprint on. It's a matter of opinion not an argument. You're probably giving accurate information that a goose 'might' be happier with another goose but they aren't unhappy with a human or...

Reasons Why You Shouldn't Keep Just One Goose

@Pyxis No it wasn't that they stop allerting. Just not the same if they have another goose to bond too. They will not bond to their human(s) and chickens in the same way with another goose as they would without. Therefore they are not as protective of the whole flock if they are with other...

Reasons Why You Shouldn't Keep Just One Goose

'The following info wording has been revised :) @Pyxis I understand what most are saying about how geese should be kept together and what the first poster was saying about their experience. However, Metzer farms owner told us that it was perfectly fine to get one goose to keep with our chickens...

Poly-Vi-Sol Vitamins Is this what I use

I understood your comment stating that the Drench is formulated for poultry...that it is better and cheaper. I was just expressing our experience w\the Poly Vi sol, it being a life saver for our pullet. My husband and I would personally recommend it if someone didn't already have the...

Poly-Vi-Sol Vitamins Is this what I use

@Shezadandy-Agreed...@3riverschick if it weren't for the Poly-Vi-sol our girl would not be alive (the healthy girl she is) today. She however, was not a baby chick when we gave it to her. She was a 5-6 month old pullet that was seemed to,be very close to taking her last breath. My husband made...

Can one chicken lay 2 eggs in one day, as it's first eggs ever?

The two blue eggs are always right next to each other. We don't have 2 blue egg layers. We had a camera close to the nesting area, had to take it out b\c it was not working right. It's fixed and back in the coop now, so hopefully we'll get to see if the two blue eggs are in fact coming from our...
