Threatening to start raising specialty breeds on a larger scale. Wondering how to find out more, everything I found on Google was for meat birds and farm eggs but I'm thinking more along the lines of raising and selling silkies and polish... Not meat breeds.

Just had the first of 25 eggs hatch, a polkie and a... ? Mother is a silkie cross, looks like a smooth silkie. Father is a sizzle. It's it possible to tell if it will be silkie too? Little guy has so much feathers on his feet he looks like he's wearing socks.

Momma duck, she needs a molt! What is the proper term for this color? my first clutch, the light color one in front, is this lavender? She's definitely barred, and has lovely blue eyes.

I've only been breeding this year, but got some interesting babies, and this thread is the only place I've seen another duck like this guy. What color is this girl? She hatched in May. All my babies this year are amazing colors, and I even got a baby with 3 colors of down a couple Weeks ago

Last one finally hatched! Brown baby has blue gray looking skin. Both yellow chicks have yellow skin. Black one is black throughout.

Aw that chick is pretty. I've never hatched any of mine, it willbe fun to watch them grow and see what they look like.

Is the solid black baby likely to have black adult feathers or is that uncertain?
