Yay! Thank you. I hope the chicken is a hen. We didnt want to bother our neighbors with roo's yelling in the morning and throuhout the day... I hear Roo's will crow anytime they please :) The chicken is still pretty young and I have to consider the breed too cause all of the chickens are...
I brought the chicken in question of whether it is a Roo or a Hen into the house so I could get better pictures.
I thought you might be able to see the wings better and the comb It has blue tones in the coloring when the light shines a certain way.
Very sweet chicken. In person, the wings...
"Maggie" which is brown with darker wings and some gray shading on part of the wings. The best picture she is in is when she is on the table.
"Ellie" the one that has white legs but kinda burgandy in color. The picture she is in is near the table approaching the feeder and water.
This is the one that was "trying" to crow... sounded kinda strange. Not a real crow. She moved her head as I took the pic I hope someone can identify if its a roo or a hen. black ostraloup. (Sorry for spelling errors)
In hope the pictures are good enough to tell me what or if there are any roos in the bunch. The two mystery chickens. I'd like to have an idea on what they are.
Thanks bunches.
Mystery chicken. She's a mix named Maggie
Any suggestions on what Maggie is as far as a breed?

Mystery chicken told RIR but looks like a mixed...
Difficult to get a good picture but this picture
has the Buckeye in front of the other two chickens. The other two are mixes.
The smaller one that seems to be hiding is a mix that I feel is part Buckeye.
Thank you for the info. I supposed to have six hens and they are around the age of three to four months. They are all different breeds. One Black Ostrolaup, one Rhode Island Red, one RIRmix with what appears to be a buckeye. One Buckeye, one Buff Orphington and the last that is a mix of what...
This is a wonderful breed. I have enjoyed my hen and wish we could have roo's in the neighborhood. I'd breed them. My Buckeye is called Ruby and she does have curiosity and wants to know what you are doing. I can't think of anything that I don't like about her. She was picked out as a...
I was wondering if my adolescent / adult chickens would be harmed if they found a "baby" snake and was carrying it around the yard as they free range.... it looked to be around 6 inches in length. All of the flock was chasing the one who had it and would gang up on the one who had it...
