    Happy Mother's Day Stan. Only 2 of 14 eggs hatched. She is happy though. My question is I have a bunch of 1 week old chicks in the brooder. What are the chances she will accept 4 of them? She is a first time mom.

    I HAVE BABIES! They are 3 days old now. Kagney started the sitting but gave up after 10 days. Luckily, Lacy went broody a few days before that and she finished the job. started with 6 eggs 2 broke, one never started and the other didn't pip. We got two cute little fuzzies so I am happy!

    I found a egg outside of the nest box covered in yolk. Mz. Grey has broke 3 of her eggs. I am on day 5 and she has 8 left under her. She is not to dirty, but the eggs have some yolk on them. I cleaned the box and put xtra bedding in. Do i need to do anything else? or let it be.

    Broody Hen in the winter !!!??? Help !!!

    I had a broody a few weeks ago. I live in wisconsin, so it is cold here too. I put her in a cage with her two best friends to help keep her warm. Three days later I let them out and all was well. She began laying again last week.
