    Adding water with auto turner?

I just use an old wine bottle and develop good aim! I keep the bottle full next to the incubator. Also, If I don't need all the egg racks, I'll leave one off and that will make room to pour.

You were right, they started back up again and its still February. Getting about 6 per day again. This is their second year and the eggs seem to be even better now that they are fully mature.

Question - how long does moulting take? I need eggs!!!

My 7 hens started to moult in early December and seem to have all their feathers back now. Egg production is still almost at zero! When will they start to lay again? This is their second winter so they are about 2 1/2 years old. Thanks!

Adding a New Chicken to Flock

What I did, and it seemed to work, was to hang a piece of corn-on-the-cob just slightly out their reach. The hens would have to work hard at getting the corn. I then put the new girl in the run while they all were jumping and pecking at the corn. By time the corn was gone they didn't seem to...

Is it really that bad... home processing...

And don't forget latex gloves and dust masks. The latex gloves make it easier for the "reaching in and pulling out" part. The dust mask can be worn for the kill and the plucking. Its not much different than cleaning fish! Brian
