I’m in Veneta a bit south west of Dallas. He is a really nice fella and we’re happy to have him.

I just wanted another rooster so put the word out( in western oregon ) and this guy showed up in a box. I ended up separating him for a bit until his harem grows up a bit. He is a nice guy.

Picked some oldish tomatoes and cucumbers for the goaty goats and chicken children

I wanted to add, he has the nicest personality. I don’t have any grown up ladies for him, just 15 kids and he is so kind, and has such a soft eye. I’ve had him for 3 weeks. He is a loud fella. Will he be frustrated without any girl friends for a while?

I put my 9 week old chicks out about 2 weeks ago, and they have just discovered the big girls grit, they are scarffing it down like crazy, should I take it away from them, so they get it in moderation, or just let them have at it?? there is maybe like 1 1/3 cup of grit there, between 11...

I apologize for hijacking your thread, but what type is the blue hen in your picture?? I have one very similar and was told it was a California Grey, but that doesn't look like any I've seen, thanks for the help on this, Teresa

thank you sooo much for the helpfull information, the heat lamp is off during the day and has been for 2 days, right now, it's 11:30 am and 36 degrees out with a high of 42, and tonight a low of 34. I may get up around midnight or so and just plug in the heat lamp for a few hours, I have today...

I put them in the coop with the big girls last weekend, ( its 24 littles to 4 biggies) so the chicks have the advantage, and so far there have been absolutely no interactions between them, the biggies just act like they arent there, or stare down from the perch in disgust, but other than that...

Cant answer for sure, but mine were shipped on a Tues and I received then on Friday about 3 weeks ago, they came in about 6:45 on Friday morning and were all fine, ( there were 25 of them) from Mcmurray hatcheries.
