I recently got a pair of golden Polish, and while I know they're already hard of seeing because of their poofs, I am beginning to worry the rooster is blind.
They're only six months old. When I got them their tail feathers had been plucked due to over crowding at their previous homes. At first...
My lab gets along great with my birds, sometimes he feels the need to run through them when they're all in a group waiting for treats, but if I give him a bone and he is chewing it in the yard they'll come peck it with him.
I misread the part that said 15 months. I had thought it was weeks.
I have never had a chicken do anything like this other than it was a young rooster trying to crow.
And I see it is not a rooster, as pointed out. So Sorry for the mistake.
Yes. I have 7 out of 10.
Plus 6 more under a chicken which are hatching right now! :)
The last one to hatch however, had to be culled. It couldn't stand up and continued to flop on his back. The little guy had curled toes which I tried to straighten out with bandaids and also vet wrap...
My lab loves running. In the winter I take him for runs on the snowmobile... We pack down a good wide path then let him go with us. He will even run in the deep snow.
Pointers are full of energy, but they're very smart. You can just make them run and expectthem to be happy. They'll still get...
One of them has been like that since yesterday at 1 probably before since that's just when I found them hatching.
He hasnt made the hole bigger or anything..
Breathing though.
I'm not a big helper, I always ty to let nature do its thing.. It does make me sad though, this is my fist time...
I got the rest of the egg shell off and have been picking a bit at a time of the membrane "shrink wrapped" on his back.
He has some on his face also and can't open his eye... I tried a bit at that one but am scare of hurting him :(
Also I have hatched chicken eggs before, never guinea.
Are...
OK. I've never helped a chick before... Generally I'm pretty against helping.
Since he was already almost fully out I had to at least get his head unstuck though.
Don't really want to go through getting the rest of the shell over but I will. He is white and so far the others are regular...
He was having q very had time walking around with 1/2 the shell stuck to him.his feet and everything were out, I just chipped away at the shell enough so he can walk comfortably with it on. The membrane looks like ts starting to get moistso hopefully by morning it will be off. If not, Iwould...
I got his head loose. His butt is also stuck in the egg shell, but I have the humidity up nos, so I am hoping for the membrane to obsorb some moisture and looses him without me having to help.
I normally will not help a chick even if it has pipped. But this one is 80% out of his shell. I feel...
Okay, so long story short I asked on here about hatching guineas. Heard hey could hatch early and if I should take the turner out early. I was told no leave it till day 25. Today I went yo check on my eggs... Its only day 24. And one is 3/4 the way out. But its head is stuck to the membrane...
I have more 12 gauges in my house than I can count. The skunk is the only think we have ever trapped. Everything else we just wait and shoot with either a 22 or a .17, so never thought to use one of the shotguns.
I didnt get sprayed by the skunk but it did spray.
Good thing I don't have a...
It will spray when you shoot them...
We had one in a little hav a heart trap. Skunks can't spray if they can't lift their tail.. Which it couldn't.
We shot it directly in the head. We put the barrel right to its head shot it in the brain. It died instantly, but it sprayed. In my back yard...
