There are several abandoned domestic ducks at Lindo Lake near my house. They aren't doing well. Many have angel wing and one looks like it survived an attack. I have 5 ducks at home and fully capable of taking one or two in. Am I aloud to rescue the dumped ducks?
What's the white one with the black bill?! I've been searching for a all white duck with a black bill and feet, but I have no idea what breed it is😂 I've seen pictures, but still don't know the breed🤷♀️
Definitely a blue swedish. I have a male just like it. It can take a while for the bill to change if it's a male. If it's a female, the bill will remain the same color. The tail can also take a while to curl. I would base it on quack!
5 ducks. They are currently using a 90 gallon stock tank, but they will be upgrading to a 2,000 gallon stock tank that I will probably install a filter on. I used the 2,000 gallon before with more ducks and I was able to go longer without cleaning, but yeah I'm sure a filter of some sort would...
Has anyone used activated charcoal in their duck pool/pond for filtration purposes? Curious...
I put the pond shock bacteria in there yesterday with fresh water and already looking dirty. Don't know if it's even possible to keep it clean without a filter, but I'm determined until we upgrade...
Yeah I'm pretty mad at myself. I feel like I let this happen since I knew the fence needed to be more sturdy or stronger. Until we replace it, I'd rather keep them safe in their run. Thank you so much for your help🙏
Yes, they're run is fully predator proof. It's covered with chicken wire across the top and some wood/tin on one end over their house for rain. but their open area where they get to free range where their pool is is not predator proof, but there is a "fence" to keep my dog away. He's done fine...
Hey duck buddies. I just moved my ducks pool inside their locked run. They usually get to go in and out as they please and I lock them up at night and their pool is usually just outside their run. However, until we have either a chain link or sturdier fence, I want to keep them in their run...
I released 10,000 fly predators a couple weeks ago, but something just occurred to me. All my ducks bedding which is covering the whole floor of their run is mixed with Diatomaceous Earth🤦♀️ I realized that if DE kills flies, it probably kills fly predators too. Looked it up and sure enough, it...
