    Unabsorbed yolk sac?

The chick is still doing well, it looks like a little bit of the yolk was absorbed overnight, but a large majority of what was there last night is still out. This chick was not assisted at all, and there were three chicks that hatched before it that were completely fine. (Also all unassisted)...

    Unabsorbed yolk sac?

So, I had 5 old english game bantams in the incubator, hatch day is today. Today 3 of the 5 hatched. Just a few minutes ago the 4th hatched but it has a little bit of yolk sac still exposed. The chick is acting fine and it hatched completely on its own. I am going to leave it in the incubator...

    Saddle air cell incubation

I am really late in responding to this but it went not as planned. Out of the six eggs, four made it to lockdown and two pipped. We had a sheep giving birth while this was happening, she ended up having quads so we were gone for a long time, when I came back to the house one of the chicks had...

    Deworming

Hi, so I really need to start dewormimg my peafowl and guinea but I want to make sure this would work. It is a safeguard multi species dewormer. My birds are about 8 months old and I was wondering how much to give per bird, and how often I should deworm them. I have two peafowl and one guinea...

    Saddle air cell incubation

Okay, thanks. I think only one or two air cells are still detached so I think I will transfer in a few days. Thanks for the advice!

    Saddle air cell incubation

The problem is I have a small incubator with a rolling turner so I have them in egg carton cups and I am turning them by hand. Should I keep them in the egg carton cups for the rest of incubation? How often should I turn them?

    Saddle air cell incubation

Hi! It has been awhile since I have posted on here but I am needing some advice for my latest hatch. I have some ayum cemani eggs in my incubator, that a relative sent me in the mail. The problem is I've have done many hatches, but never with shipped eggs. All six eggs have bad air cells and I...

Please tell me these aren’t dead.

I can’t really tell from the picture, because it is so early, could you post another picture in a few days? I wouldn’t give up hope yet.

    Serama NR360 Settings

Typically with bantams I lock down on 16 because they are smaller, so I think for seramas day 15 would work well. I’ve heard seramas are a lot harder to hatch than regular sized chickens, so good luck👍🏻

    Is this a bullseyes?

Both of the eggs are fertile, I usually wait until the eggs are up to full size before I incubate to make sure the chicks have enough growing room.

Chick not hatching what should I do

You can float test them, just check thoroughly for pips, and place the eggs one by one into a large bowl of warm water, the bottom of the egg will float to the top and if the chick is alive inside it should start to wiggle.

    Adding single chick to brooder

If you add it in with the other ones it should be fine, since it is a little bit younger they might pick on it a little bit, but I wouldn’t be worried.

    Ancona hen?

I have never had any Ancona chicks, but from my experience with other breeds my guess would be rooster. It is still a little early though so I could be wrong.

    Slow Feathering 8-week old

They look pretty okay to me, if you are worried you could feed them some boiled eggs to help with their nutrients.

    What breeds are my peachicks?

Thank you so much, I didn’t care much about what they looked like, but I wanted to make sure I got India blues to sell in the future. Peafowl genetics are confusing.

    What breeds are my peachicks?

So if it is a split white, what would happen if I bred it with an India blue? Im not very happy, I made sure I got purebred India blues so I hatch and sell my own purebred peachicks. Ugh
