Your use of the term street as opposed to road leads me to believe that the latter is the case, but not necessarily true as it's a mistake commonly made by by "city folk" when they first move into the country. Here in the country we usually call them roads.
I don't live in Texas I live in...
OldGuy 43 I live on just over an acre. It is an HOA, but like i said it isn't formal, the rules are never inforced. Street? Road? Seriously.. A road to me, isn't paved, a street is. I am far from city folk. I live in a town of 7,000 people and I don't even call that a city. I live outside of...
Okay it DOES NOT state how many birds i am allowed to have. I put in my first post "exactly" what the covenants state. I have spoken again to the president and told him that I am willing to compromise, but in no way am i only going to raise 6 birds when another person in our HOA has more than 6...
I agree, it should be listed, and they just assume that poultry is under "small animals" but it isn't listed under small animals in fact it goes on to say that one can have "poultry", but doesn't say how many. Like I said I am willing to compromise, but I will have more than 6 birds. I am...
@ Selfsufficient I actually suggested that last night. I came up with a ton of suggestions, but the president acted like it didn't matter what suggestions I had, that I simply could only raise enough birds to feed my family. Okay great that he is willing to compromise, but are the neighbors that...
We are in a non-formal HOA, and our home is zoned agricultural and yes there are restrictions on how many livestock we can raise, but there aren't any restrictions listed in the covenants, on how many poultry we can have, just that we have to take care of them and keep them contained. The...
I got a knock on the door last night from the president of our so called association. I live in the county in fact our neighbors across the street have cattle and horses. We bought and paid for this house 2 yrs ago, and before we did I read and made sure that we could have farm animals. Our...
Sorry, yes I meant pen them up as in not letting them roam free..The more they run around, the more calories they burn which in turn means more time to gain weight.
Your maran is a good size for being only 5 months old. You could start with him. My best advice i can give is if you want them to grow fast and big and be nice and tender, high protein and pin them up. Good luck..
Thank you.. I already moved them because they were knocking the eggs around and I figured that couldn't be good. I know i probably shouldn't have, but i candled the remaining eggs and three were definite quitters and the other 3 are questionable. I went ahead and put the questionable ones back...
Okay it has been 33 hours since my first two babies hatched. I now have three babies, but all three pipped at around the same time. Does this mean these are all that will hatch. The older two are chirping loudly and clearly stressed, running back and forth along the door pecking at it. What...
I had a hen set for almost 50 days only to end up finally hatching out one baby.. The first clutch failed. If your hen is a good broody she will not get off the nest til the job is done. Just swap them at night whe she is sleeping and the best advice i can give is put her in her own pen away...
Can I pull two babie out that hatched 24 hrs ago, as long as the others haven't pipped? My humidity comes back up pretty quick after opening, as long as I close the door quickly.
I have taken a ton of pics and will definitely post some when they dry out.. This has been the best medicine for my recovery, after having a hysterectomy...
