Little Turkey is still going back to the coop and to the nest box. She got out this morning at a little, walked around a little and went back to the nest box. im stumped some say she maybe broody but she is a very docile broody. ive seen broody and she isn't growling puffing up and acting crazy...
well she has been out eating grass and some feed but I felt her crop yesterday and it felt empty. I did see her eating so I know she ate. she setting in the coop right now. when she went in the pen yesterday evening she made a clucky sound like a broody hen. I think I told yall someone said she...
I looked but didn't see anything but she was so full of dirt. I am going to give her a full inspection in the morning. I didn't see anything but like I said her feathers were full of dirt.
I am really afraid that is whats wrong with mine. but mine isn't swollen. she pecks at her rear end a lot her is a pic of her bottom she has has mineral oil on her bottom and just has gotten a dirt bath. that's why she is so dirty looking. she is jet black and gorgeous!
awwwww, I sure hope she makes it I am praying she will. no, my hens name is Little Turkey, when the two of them were tiny I would just say yall two little turkeys so they both are named Little Turkey. so that's her name. No my Little Turkeys tummy isn't swollen. I have actually had someone tell...
this is what her bottom looks like. mind you she has had mineral oil on it plus she has been dirt bathing which helped my feelings. she hasn't shaken the dirt off yet. But oyu can see how her bottom is bare in spots. she is usually full and fluffy back there. I will check for lice.
she isn't greatly active, she gets out and about but is slow go some. if the rooster starts to get at her she will run but of course I make him go on cause I know something is up with her. She put her head down a few minutes ag maybe to peck the ground ad clar liquid ran out of her mouth but i...
yes that's why im on the fence about it. but I have read a little more about being broody and I read they peck their feathers out. my girl is really pecking at her feathers. her poop is pretty big I read that's a sign too. its never the same its either big and runny with yellow and green, semi...
yes I have had a broody hen before. I told them I didn't think she was because I had seen one before and they said they have had hens that weren't irritated when they were broody. she does bock a little when the others come close to her when she is in the yard, she is lowest in pecking order and...
I didn't even put my finger all the wayin cause she acted like it hurt. she isn't eating much. well I have never had to look at their tummys much so im unsure I think its a little puffy it feels puffy.
Ok I tried to do the exam and when I put my finger just barely in she acted like she was in pain and squatted a little. so im pretty sure its an egg there. what do yall think.
