Darling, and man, what a great hatch! Hey, I am thinking that the third from the top is going to be a splash. Nice vault on that one too. You have some dark blues. Mine are light..who knows, I may have a couple of splash. I have more of her eggs in..I want a black soo bad..had two that...
There isn't one...wondering, if folks are waiting for the NYD biggie. Last day of the month/year, first day of the year. New Years Day Hatch A Long.
Oh boy was I wrong. Not going yet. :/
She pointed it out first..that, the light one may be a splash. I looked at it better when dry. I have found that most of my blue splash have a hint of yellow around their necks, or wings, or bums. :)
You can't see the yellow in the photos. It is lighter though. :)
I have to go now...but, if you are seeing any shell move, or hear peeping...see how it goes in two more hrs. If nothing more then, I would assist. Good luck!
Yes, this is what I do also, sprinkle food on the mesh for them...especially silkie babies, they need it down and some sprinkles for a while. :)
Tomorrow day 21...let's go pips...by the end of the night! Come on chickies.
I use boards. Not at first though. They can't get up to them right off. I put them on the kitchen rubber made stuff first. When they are a few days old and know what the feeders and waterers are, I put them higher, because .. oh yeah...shavings end up in them.
Take it you don't have another bator. That is quite a difference in between hatching. If you don't have another bator, yes, raise your humidity to around 55..everyone can get by on that. :) I open my bator often during hatching. I take out the chicks that have hatched. I personally don't...
She looks to have some grey in her..does she have the specks throughout her body? That is why they call them splash .. of course....:p..they have little dark grey, or even light grey specks throughout the body. Your birds are very pretty!!
Here is the silkie thread..very active. Just go...
Which one are you wondering is a splash? The light grey? If it has a hint of yellow around it's body, like the top of the back of it's wings..behind the neck..or the back of the bum..it could be. :) Going to look at your avvy to see what your big light one looks like.
Sadly yes, hard to hatch. Some will have large vaults, which makes it hard for them to turn in the shell. There is one, I think you can see, has a very high vault..but..that was the first one to hatch! There is another with a smaller vaulted head, then one without. I assisted one of these...
