DE is a powder made of fossilized sealife. When it is crushed if has very fine cutting edges which makes it great for an insecticide. First before you use it, You need to know if you have a bug problem. If you don't it is not worth wasting your money on. If you start having a insect or pericite...
Ok. From your account it sounds like the humidity outside the coop is just as high as inside the coop.
You might need to get a dehumidifier. Or if the inside of your coop isn't painted you should which will help with stopping the mold. It grows into the wood so even if you bleech the top layer...
Are you going to let them out during the day? If not I might make the run a bit bigger or fence around the coop with a play yard for them and lock them up at night.
You shouldn't need to insulate if you put a heat lamp in the coop.
Just get you a thermometer and hang it on the wall so you can...
who is tearing it down? Well you better keep an eye on this person if you don't know them? or is it the neighbor?
I would go over there and tell whoever is taking it down what you are looking for to use. that way they can set it aside. If they don't know what you are looking for they might take...
how much of a yard do you have to make a tractor for?
moveable coop? are you free ranging out of it? or are you making a moveable run to go with the coop?
I just needed a little info to help with the size and scope I used give you ideas for.
Good Luck

acutually if it is a solid door you would always screw a piece of plywood to the back of the door in the winter time and take it off in the summer.
I would mount the hardware cloth to the outside and the plywood to the inside.
If you can get a deal on the door go for it. You can always...
I think your wire will work just fine. I have the same on my run and it has stopped 2 week old cavees that got in there by mistake and charged the fence. so don't worry about replacing it.
I would dig about a 6 inch ditch and pour it full of concrete to keep dogs and such from digging under...
I order from Ideal alot. And they have been helpful when I have had chicks die/mixups.
Make sure you call during their business hours. I know I am in the est so I wait to about 10 am to call them.
Also, make sure when they get to the post office they aren't setting them under a/c vents or...
you can try putting her in the pen in a smaller cage, for a couple days so that way the others can get used to her without being able to get to her.
Since she left she will be at the bottom of the "pecking order" and have to work back up.
But using the cage method has worked the best for me...
Nice coop, but man are you wasting all that space with those roosts you made. And to clean that puppy out you will either have to move them all out or fight around them trying to get all the liter up.
you could have made folding roosts with all those 2x4's mounted to the wall. If you used...
Get deer loads for a shotgun. They are a solid slug and don't travel as far as a regular bullet. That is if you have a 12 ga shotgun.
Also. If you have a local paper put an ad out for trappers to come put out some traps to trap them. Most of the time they will do for it free bc they can sell...
ok. I was reading a bit fast. I thought he ment he only let them in the run a couple hours a day. hahaha.
That size coop should be fine then. Just need room for them to bed down at night, enough perch space for all of them.
Actually you can get that stuff made out of aluminum. So what they have in the store might just be made of that.
Also I wouldn't use krylon spray paint. A gallon of cheap oil based paint and a roller is all you need and roll the paint on. Using spray paint is a waste.
So go back to the store...
It is two "frames" with the hardware cloth in the middle. I have done this before. I screwed the two frames together in the case I would have to replace the wire.
I hope this helps.

If you want to only make a coop that small, you need to let them have access to the run at all times.
You would only need to insulate your coop if it gets really cold for long periods of time.
I would def build your nesting boxes on the outside of the coop about 12 inches off the floor and...
are you making sure to wear gloves when you turn them? The oil from your hands might be sealing up the eggs.
Auto turners are pretty cheap these days and if you are buying all those eggs from somewhere that is a lot of wasted money and the turner would have paid for itself by now.
Good luck...
Ya I let my hens free range on about 40 acres. I have seen them about a 1/4 mile from the coop before out into the cow pasture. Most of the time they stay with 100 yards of the coop. But I keep most of it mowed. They are great at cleaning up after the horse
Chickens can and will climb...
It really needs to age for a bit. When things are first chipped up, they produce alot of heat as they rot. It is a good idea to let the wood chips "rest" for a bit before you spread them in the run.
I will try to find out if your mix is dangerous. How old are the chickens?
Good Luck
