Is it possible or plausible to just add it to water? I admit I didnt quite know what I had bought until I got home with it...just read on the bottle at the store that its for roosters. Its really not feasible for me to administer it orally.
Off subject a bit...I have several roosters that are...
Many threads on what the best layer is but Im only looking at red or black sex-links and possibly the leghorns. Egg color is irrelevant to me.
To be specific, I would love to hear from people who have raised both colors of sex links.
I currently have a flock of 40 production reds and they...
Is it okay to mix NPIP chicks with non-NPIP chicks? I'm not sure exactly how the program works so I'm curious if NPIP flocks are vaccinated and if so it seems there would be a problem with mixing them.
I'm looking at ordering some more chicks and realized I never thought about this possible...
Im curious if a black roo of one breed mated to a splash hen of a different breed would still yield 100% blues?
Sorry if this is common knowledge but I've tried searching
We have some breeding pens set up and I can't remember seeing any of them doing any breeding while their in them. When I let them out its the first thing the roo wants to do. Are there some hard and fast rules for this or what am I missing?
Each coop is 4'x5' and has an attached run that is...
These came with a group of RIR & Partridge rocks that I ordered. I ordered a dozen of each but that didn't quite happen :( They are just over 5mths of age in the pics
I do like them alot because they keep to themselves mostly and aren't always following me around or running through my legs...
I believe this hatched as a supposed olive egger but I'm not for sure...are there any signs I could look for to know for sure. I have other OE's so I'm not sure who's laying the green eggs
I'm hopeful that a few on here have or maybe still do work at a hatchery and have had a hand in the fumigation process. I'm about to fumigated a GQF cabinet but I want to make sure I'm not missing something. I feel silly asking because I'm pretty sure I understand the instructions but I'd feel...
I had 15 barnevelders in a hoop coop and somewhat quarantined because I had a suspicious smell in the brooder shed that started while they were in there with a couple other groups. All of these groups were separated into their own brooder but still in the same shed. When they were old enough...
Sorry, no blonde jokes here :) I raise brown coturnix and had a batch hatch yesterday with one blonde colored. Its completely blonde and looks nothing like the breeders. Just curious if someone would possibly know the genetic explanation??
I would like to effeciently use my brooder space, of course, and I'm curious where most draw the line on mixing different ages. Would 5 day old coturnix be okay to put with day olds? Specifically 50 of each :)
I have an LG with the fan kit that has been used to hatch 2 sets of eggs. I bought it new a couple months ago before I got a cabinet style bator so its still in excellent condition. Thought I'd see if anyone here needs it before posting on CL.
PM me if your interested, thanks
I'm needing the SOP book and looked online but came up with a zillion different choices. Can someone tell me which one I'm needing and maybe what the deal is with soooo many choices?
I'm thinking I need the 2010 edition but just not quite sure
I'm sure this is on the forum somewhere but I can't find it. Is it possible to ship hatching eggs in a box as if they were live chicks? If so what are the cons?
Seems like the way to go so I'm curious what I'm missing
I'm debating a location to put a brooder or 2 and wanted to get some opinions. Brooders are plywood and I can make them as sealed as need be. I just put up a couple of those carports that you probably see everywhere and I closed the sidewalls and one of the end walls to the ground and will...
Can some of ya'll tell me why you have a ladder either going to your roost or even the ladder style ramps going to the coop? I can think of a couple but feel like I'm missing the biggest reason...I'm reckon i'm a little slow
If you needed a laugh, here's your chance. I've been messing around with all sorts of silly chickens this year and pretty much learning as I go. I've started getting eggs and now I've got questions. I probably shouldn't ask them all here but the first one I have is what is the proper...
