Moe is a 4 1/2 year old Pekin drake.
He is not as active as he usually is. He lays off by himself. He carries himself like in the picture almost all the time. He now is placing his beak in the dirt on front of him when he is standing and appears to freeze in place for a few seconds. I have...
Have you tried to soak feet ?
If so does the white part become softer?
Have you tried to gently pull on it ...like maybe it is something that has become "part of the foot"?
My heavy boy has the callous feet right now but I have never seen the white tag before.
Took her to the vet and he took an X-Ray.The bone from her toe nail to the first joint is shattered in to 4 pieces.
The vet said that there is no surgery or way to correct it. He also said that the toe will stay "swollen" and disfigured.
One of the shattered pieces of bone has worked it way out...
After one of my Pekin female had been "mated" anther female from her group ran up and started biting at her vent.
Has anyone seen this type of behavior before?
I know this is prevalent in chickens but I can not seem to locate anything on ducks.
I have been treating a few females for "prolapse"...
Update* I returned home last night and the swelling was significantly worse. It was beginning to affect her eyes and i feared for her health. I drained the mass and old blood was expelled. She is currently still draining but the lump is much smaller. I can only assume the hematoma was caused by...
She described it as soft but firm. Im guessing its a bee sting or spider bite as it showed up overnight. The vet is closed on Sunday except for emergencies. She can not see any bite or injuries. She said that she is acting completely normal. Eating and drinking is normal as well as her fecal. I...

This is my one year old female runner. Any idea what is could be and any suggestions to get the swelling down?it was just noticed this afternoon. I am out of town and not sure what to do.
Ive tried niacin and have started him on duvets electrolytes and vitamins. The vet said not to keep him on one specific vitamin as it could mess with the amount of other vitamins needed to balance him out. I dont know what to do.

I just adopted two chickens and cannot figure out what breed. Can anyone help me figure them out? The one looks like a pheasant. Her coloring is beautiful.
I agree with goats rule 101.
Check her patty wackers for swelling, cuts, or black spots.
I have a Pekin that I believe is limping because of being both boys favorite girl.
My girl also lets me manipulate her feet, legs, and hips.
She gets warm soaks by herself and her waddle is slowly getting...
So after a trip to the vet today with another duck he said that this is just a callous or dead skin.
He said not to worry about soaking her with epsom anymore or applying neosporin.
As he watched her waddle in his duck friendly room he said that she is walking just fine.
He asked his...
Curley had her appointment today. The vet said that she has a healing wound. He stated that it starts out as a fluid and as it matures(heals) it begins to form a sort of scar tissue inside. He said it will take months for it to go away completely but he is confident that is what is going on...
So curley has an appointment tomorrow to see the vet. Her swelling had gone down but has returned slightly. Now she has a pea sized hard lump. Im hoping for the best.
She has been getting epsom salt soaks and triple ointment/iodine after.
She doesn't appear to be in any discomfort.
She sits on my lap lets me manipulate and clean it, and doesn't pitch a fit.
Her feet are warm but not radiating heat like an infection.
They have a 2x2 piece of hardware cloth...
She had some scratches on her feet so I have been soaking and cleaning her feet but I cant seem to figure what this is.
Its like a wart of some sort. Very fibrous with no smooth patches. All thoughts and ideas are welcome. Thank you
