Because it has been chilly at night, I have closed the Large coop door and just have hatch access for the chickens to go into roost at night. These two rediculous polish (hens) refuse to go in but to roost in the doorway. The hatch is not that large so if they are in the doorway, the younger...
I moved a waterer two days ago that has been there for a long time. Underneath there was all funky stuff growing looked like plants ect. one of my BR ran over and started picking at it. I kept chasing her away but she kept trying to eat it. Anyway afterwards she was walking like she did not...
I finally disbatched three Roos today. Whheww! Not as easy as I thought to work with. Thanks to that Pithing method things were much easier for the last two birds.
First bird.... I used the hatchet, and since it was the very first time for me to do this.....turned out a bit of a disaster...
There was a step by step either pictures or video showing how to cut the bird up. Someone had posted it..... I thought I saved it but now I cant find it!
Does someone have it or know where it is?
I want to make sure I get how to cut out the insides without messing it up... like cutting out...

Our Roo is now 17 weeks old. Today was the first time I caught him on top of one of my older hens. I don't know when he started this behaviour, but is he capable of fertilizing eggs at this age??? And if so would they be ok to hatch??? (I have a Broody)......
Tried to ask when they were smaller and lots of "no ideas" ....Now they are a bit older.... so I am hoping we have a few more guesses?????
Thanks!

I have an 8 week old partridge cochin roo.
For the past 3 weeks, he has been hobbling thru life...
He eats, drinks, tries to catch flies bugs etc... but lies around most of the good day due to his legs.
As far as I am aware He HAS NOT been injured. I also checked for obvious leg issues/...

They are just 1 week old today. They are mixed colors and I have lost one of each color. They are seperate from the other chickens, in their own cage with plenty of food, water and heat via a...

I always have my babies with my older ones (up to 7 weeks old) (all standard breeds) have never had a problem. The others seemed so much stronger and...
