Chicks ripped apart. Hen eating her young?

She's eating them! Don't let her sit eggs again. If she were my hen, her next stop would be in a great pot of Louisiana style chicken and okra gumbo!

Chicks ripped apart. Hen eating her young?

My hen and her eggs were in a hutch. She hatched one beautiful chick with 5 eggs waiting. The next day the food dish was toppled and 2 eggs were missing. We replaced the food and water. A day later, the chick and remaining eggs were gone. She ate everything. I'm afraid she may become an egg...

Can hen leave eggs while setting?

I moved my broody hen and her nest of 8 eggs from the coop, into a separate hutch inside the chicken run. She has plenty of food and water. The hen has been on these eggs for 12-16 days because other hens laid more eggs in her nest box while she got up to eat. After the move, I closed the door...

    EE pullet or rooster

Can anyone tell me if this is a cockerel? Purchased 6 'Ameraucanas' from a Ma and Pa hardware, all advertised as poulets, but I did not care. It's about 20 weeks and I'm sure it's an EE.

Ideal Poultry Surprise Special. Need help figuring out breeds.

It's 7 months later....did you figure out the breeds? I'm considering buying chicks from Ideal Poultry. Also, why do you want so many roosters? Most people get only one, because the males fight each other. My policy: only one Rooster... The others make their way to my gumbo pot!--

    yellow chicks

OK you guys, it's been 5 months now... Can someone post a photo of the yellow EE? I have one that came out of the EE bin at a Ma and Pa Hardware Store. It's supposed to be a pullet but I'd love to know what it may look like as an adult
