what if your chicken is lame and his feathers are getting wet from the grass. I'm thinking of trying to protect his chest feathers from getting wet and him getting a chill...
not the best of pics, i know, but our hen Flower, decided to get broody in our cat box, so the cat has been without her bed for several weeks now & the bed is black, & the chick is black..... so..... happy days!!!
well, anyway, we have the most adorable little chick. The mother is a black rock, the father a silkie/frizzle cross, so this baby is black like mummy, but looks like a silkie chick, very tiny with same facial features as a silkie, will post a pic when I can get in for a better look <3
thanks for your support WVduckchick, did candle, they looked v still, so decided to take the plunge, they were both dead, but it has been well over 24 hrs since the first hatched
I know these are very young, they are 2 weeks old, and from a sizzle hen & silkie rooster,, the first is a smooth sizzle, second possibly a frilkie? 3rd a false silkie ( they all have pink & black patch skin) 4th & 5th sizzles, any one got any hint of an idea as to sex yet?
the came from my friend who has Rhode Island Red,Aracauna cross and black barred rock and the cockerel a welsummer the eggs were standard pale pinkish brown eggs which she thought came from the RIR

ok so heres some pics of the last egg, any thoughts? Its day 25, I see no movement or internal pip & no sound.
