I'm also dealing with a bird with sour crop, but can't get her to bring anything up! She's becoming VERY weak, and I'm also scared to try the "by the feet" thing. thanks for the instructions - I'll give it a shot. I'm also looking for a post on here I had read a week or so ago about using...
Her crop isn't actually ballooned up - there doesn't seem to be air in it, just squishy... she still won't eat this morning. The olive oil did really seem to help get things going the other day, but today, no eating. Hopefully the oil will help yours! It's so hard to watch them and not know...
1) What type of bird , age and weight. Light Brahma, 1 year old, only a couple pounds (lost lots of weight over past 3 weeks)
2) What is the behavior, exactly. Moving slowly or resting a lot. Some stumbling - weak. Alternating between eating/picking/not eating

Ok, I'm thinking this is probably Mareks, as we had a bantam we suspect had it a couple months ago. BUT, some things are different, so I want to be sure. The last bird never had diarrhea, and never really looked like she wasn't feeling good - she just lost movement but was always "bright"...
Ok, new info here:
I was just out there and I have another girl that is starting to limp.

1 more bit of info: someone at tractor supply gave my husband Duramycin-10 to treat the chickens for cocci. Is this correct? It says not to use in egg layers - is this AT ALL, or just that we need to dump the eggs for a bit after giving it to them? Thank you!
No replies, maybe my post was too long??
1. what can cause paraylsis
2. do I have to wait to treat for cocci after treating for worms with Wazine. I treated for worms last Wed/Thurs, and it appears I need to treat for cocci as well.
Thank you!!
I have a 17mth old golden sebring (sebrite? - I forget!) bantam that started showing signs of listlessness a couple weeks ago. A week ago Saturday, we found her on her side, having a tough time walking and falling over. The other birds were starting to pick on her. I brought her inside, and...
