I think she had a spot. At one point she lost her feathers where the white is now - I believe the others picked at her top hat. They grew back white. I guess that makes the adage about plucking grey hairs true!
Thanks for the link! I think we may end up with black birds. I told my daughter they may end up white or buff; she said it was okay. Anyhow...this is pretty similar to what you have posted as black Sumatras.
Crud. I just now found out not all Sumatra's are black. I ordered them for my daughter from My Pet Chicken. The older they get (they're only 8 days) the more yellow/white they seem to be getting. Any hope of them turning black once they start the ugly stage?
Wow! Thanks! I thought only Brahma's and Cochin were fuzzy footed. I should have done more research.

Mommy is either my RIR or BR. Fairly certain she's the BR. Daddy is my Brahma (kind of silvery) - there's no mistaking the fuzzy feet (even though my only other roo is a Cochin).
I am terrified of 1" netting. I lost my fayoumi and a pet rabbit to that stuff. From now on, I'm only going to use hardware cloth 1/2" or smaller.
