    Free Chicken Apron/Saddle Pattern

Has anyone made one with the flaps to cover the top of the wings? Another girl has become the favorite. Poor baby. They look like little flaps but I am unsure how to attach securely.

    Scabs on Roosters neck

Thank you. > have been giving him the extra vitamins for a week now. He is finally eating enough on his own but I worry about the fluid intake. I go and hold the water in front of him several times a day so it is easier for him to drink. I had to tube feed him for a few weeks and it was a...

    Scabs on Roosters neck

I think it is a bit of both. He doesn't want to stretch his neck because these seem to hurt him. So I believe that they are pulling on the skin and feathers. There are maybe 4 or 5 of these lines back and forth just across the back of his neck. It seems very strange. They are extremely hard and...

when will my free loading ducks start laying?

They are in an enclosed run and coop. I do let them out sometimes to play in the grass but since we have some hawks and an owl that live on our property so only when I am with them. There has been some talk of getting rid of them so hopefully they produce some soon.

    Scabs on Roosters neck

Our Theo had gotten into a fight with another rooster a while back. He lost horribly and I had to nurse a hurt wing and swollen shut eye from the ordeal. Those seem to be fine but now he has these bands of scabs around his neck. They only are from the side to side and not around the front. I...

OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Where is the spot? Maybe the saddle isn't long enough. I made one for my girls and it covers all the way to the tail. It has been on for a few months and is dirty but still there.

    American serama thread!

We have our first eggs in the incubator. I am extremely excited. Is there anything that I need to do special for the baby chicks? Will they be fine with the standard chick crumble? Lol. I feel like I need to relearn everything.

    Rooster eyes swelling. Please help

Thank you. I have been putting an antibiotic ointment in his eye. Which he hates but he gets it done twice a day. I have also been tube feeding twice a day. And I have been monitoring his crop and it is emptying just fine. I think that he just can't get the food or water since he only has the...

    Rooster eyes swelling. Please help

Wow. He has been hurt for over a week. Well his eye is still swollen. I had to dig around in there because a piece of pus was lodged deep in there. I was able to get it out and it looks like it is slowly going down. He can barely open it. He hasn't been able to eat or drink on his own so I...

    Rooster eyes swelling. Please help

Thank you. It is more frustrating because this all happened the day before the other roosters were taken to the butcher. I am going to bring him in and spoil him until his swelling goes down.

    Rooster eyes swelling. Please help

My favorite rooster got into a fight with another rooster. He hurt his wing and tore a piece of his waddle off. His whole face on that side is swollen and the eye has swollen shut. I checked on him this morning and the eye on the other side is swelling too. Since the girls aren't picking on him...

OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

I went to the feed store off the 314. It is a bit north of Chesterville next to Yoder Bulk Foods. They had starter/grower in a 50lbs bag for I think $10.50. Layer crumble and pellets. Etc. A good selection. Just make sure to have cash or check. I will know about the prices of the other one...

OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

I went yesterday since my chickens needed food. This particular one had a lot of Comercial available food which was nice. There were 50lbs bags for between $9.25 and $10. I grabbed an 80lbs bag for $15. Well worth the trip. I am going to check another one that is near me next time.

    Indian Runner Duck temperment

The both quack. Very loud and demanding quacks. They like to tell me what to do. Nice to know we have girls. I will have to look around for a boyfriend for them.
