Will this coop work for the time being ?

It should buy you some time. Actually pretty nice for a hasty coop.

New quail pens. Hopefully raccoon proof.

The wire is doubled in the floor. Most of my quail were pulled through the bottom leaving just the head. They certainly are smart. I trapped one and am working on the other one. I may try using locks.

    Pallet Goat Run In

I made very one with pallets and put a metal roof on it. 8 x 8 houses 8-10 goats no problem. I don't think you'll want a divider.

New quail pens. Hopefully raccoon proof.

Thanks. I used 1/2 x1/2 on the floor to allow the droppings to pass.I only used the 1/4 inch for the screen on top of the small cage and the front of the taller one. I had to add those because I forget about allowing light in.

    Hole in coop roof

Ok. I have seen them chew there way through asphalt shingles and osb to get into an attic. They seem to have great resolve and will come back to get your birds.

New quail pens. Hopefully raccoon proof.

Thanks, The previous cages were made with 1/2 x1 wire. No wood frame just bent and secured with rings. They worked for keeping the birds in but the coons had no problem reaching in and killing them.

New quail pens. Hopefully raccoon proof.

Check these out and let me know what you think. I recently lost 20-25 quail because my pens weren't as secure as I thought they were. So I built these. The taller one is for my chukars. The smaller for my cots. I installed two layers of hardware cloth about 3 1/2 inches apart...

    Hole in coop roof

Yes, I have been fighting them for a month. They will chew a lot in a night. Little rascals killed 25 quail in a week. I just had to rebuild all my coops and hatch more eggs.

Male quails fighting when kept together?

I think so. I aim for 1 sq ft per bird after separating mine for slaughter. They seem to do fine.

    coturnix and Bobwhite together?

I keep mine separate. The cots are too calm to be with Bob's in my opinion.

DE for deworning your herd? Goat specific question...

I would not add it to the bottle and would not use it while you are weaning. If you going to use DE i would wait until they are adjusted to hay, grain and or pasture. Then i would still use a dewormer and supplement with DE.

HELP - My eggs have been in the incubator for 31 days and have not hatched.

I was going to throw out my quail eggs today, six days past hatch day. I came home and found five had hatched and others are pipping. Maybe another day or two and your ducks will hatch.
