    5 Dead in 24hrs

    Well i must be doing something wrong. My chicks are 5 to 7 weeks. I have them on medicated chicken feed. I have bloody stools that i have started to notice ofver last few days. Now their dripping like flies. 5bdead in 24hr and 2 to 3 more on their way out. What am i missing?

    I just bought a Cemani hen. I have a rooster I am going to put her with. She was with another rooster of another breed and has been laying. How long after she is with my Cremani rooster would you say I am getting pure Cremani eggs and no longer anything from the previous bird.

    Caring for chicks the first 72hr after shipping

    I have had chicks from TSC, didn't lose not even one. I order day old babies to be mailed. They were in transit only 1 day. 1 dead on arrival, 1 died a day later, then another a day later ( today ). am I doing something wrong? They are on Chick crumbles (and eating well from appearances)...

    Egg Candling question. Day 5-6

    So I candled everyone today. See veins in the bottom of all of the eggs but one. It appears clear. We are on day 5, should I take that egg out and say its not going to develop or hold out a little longer?

    So I have read NPIP forms on what they test for, what it is used for. My question is what is required for the bids as far as a small hobby breeder starting out but wanting to be able to get NPIP. Is there a minimum flock number requirement?

    Egg with Blood around outside

    Will post pic in next post. I got an egg today covered in fresh bright red blood. I do have some hens that are new layers so I didn't know if this possibly could just be from a new layer or if I should watch for something else. Stools and demeanor in the coop seem perfectly normal.
