Well i must be doing something wrong.
My chicks are 5 to 7 weeks. I have them on medicated chicken feed.
I have bloody stools that i have started to notice ofver last few days. Now their dripping like flies. 5bdead in 24hr and 2 to 3 more on their way out.
What am i missing?
Had to share pics of my new orust babies. 2 are mixed orust x RIR but threw them in the bator too.
I want to thank everyome on these forms. I wouldnt have been able to do it without you!
15 eggs put in incubator. 13 made it to day 18 for lock down.

I am getting several breeds to add to my flock. I have a nice 12 x 16 building we have not really used. I am going to turn it into my chicken coop.
The front has 2 windows and a door in the middle (thats on one of the 16 sides)
I am thinking the back 16ft section I could do four 4ft by ...
I just bought a Cemani hen. I have a rooster I am going to put her with.
She was with another rooster of another breed and has been laying.
How long after she is with my Cremani rooster would you say I am getting pure Cremani eggs and no longer anything from the previous bird.
So I am getting ready to have my first hatch.
Lockdown will be Wednesday night. Their 21 day will be Friday night.
My question is: When do you say their not going to hatch?
I have 14 babies moving in the egg and appearing normal at this point. I will lock them down and then await hatching...
I have had chicks from TSC, didn't lose not even one.
I order day old babies to be mailed. They were in transit only 1 day.
1 dead on arrival, 1 died a day later, then another a day later ( today ). am I doing something wrong?
They are on Chick crumbles (and eating well from appearances)...
So I candled everyone today. See veins in the bottom of all of the eggs but one. It appears clear. We are on day 5, should I take that egg out and say its not going to develop or hold out a little longer?
So I have read NPIP forms on what they test for, what it is used for. My question is what is required for the bids as far as a small hobby breeder starting out but wanting to be able to get NPIP. Is there a minimum flock number requirement?
1st . I have beautiful Swedish Orust Chickens directly from GFF last year. My hens have a 95% fertility rate (as of last months eggs I checked).
I am selling eggs $5 each or a dozen for $50. You can also mix and match with our other breeds.
2nd I have Lovely Lavender Orpington hatching...
I am new to chickens only owning them a year. I have several first time layers (8 to be exact) I have several roosters and they seem to be doing their job fine. When a hen starts laying are the eggs good to go ahead and start hatching or do you wait for a few weeks? I assume they should be...
Will post pic in next post. I got an egg today covered in fresh bright red blood. I do have some hens that are new layers so I didn't know if this possibly could just be from a new layer or if I should watch for something else. Stools and demeanor in the coop seem perfectly normal.
