My faverolles are not good egg players but I get plenty of eggs, so I'm not pushing them. 2 eggs a day especially a few hours apart is not something I've heard of. Usually when people say 2 in one day it's like 20 hrs apart.
1,2,4 roos?
Maybe a few more but cant tell from pics shown.
#1 may be a New Hampshire Red?? It looks too orange for a buff orpington.
I think u have EE's 6-9.
well, I think just one is female. The others were all males.
The one possible female is the one in pics above, alone or in the forefront, she still has no saddle feathers and comb/waddles haven't really grown.
Update: I got one egg, so I know I have at least one female. I've seen three of them coming but it's not often or loud. My guess, 3 males and one female, although none are doing any mating dance or nesting activities.. (the egg was just sitting at bottom of their cage).
No boys. They look good! They are definitely hens. all the "wrong" dark feathers on my hens are gone. I guess first "molt" or "adult feathers?
I have 3 chicks from them.
The father(s) are lavender. The chicks aren't supposed to be lavender but two are. I dont know about the genetics of...
Thanks! What they are all female or have already paired and were separated.
One is missing a lot of feathers on the back of the head, like a hen (chickens). This might be an indication she is female but that her mate is missing, meaning she was separated?
I will move them to a better location...
an occasional coo from one when startled but otherwise not much activity.
I have a huge cage in the basement, that I put them in (actually, the unused cage is part of the reason i bought them).
Anyway, they have natural light and led light but no direct sunlight. i will move them tomorrow.
Saw these at auction and could not resist getting them!
Is it possible to tell gender by color or other dimorphic
phenotype?
Old fashioned frill/satinette? Oriental frill?
They have leg band, can I search band ID?
