It's now day 5...we candled two of the eggs and couldn't see anything in the darkest brown egg..........but definite veins in the blue egg! OMG

I have 9 hens and no roosters. Down the road from me is a farmer that has self-serve eggs (they put the eggs in a cooler in the back of a wagon and you pay by putting the money in a coffee can)...anyway, I went there today and there was carton with dark green, light green, and super dark brown...

Yup, in the fall I spread chicken droppings all over the surface of my garden. I designed my coop so that it opens right into the garden. In the winter I scoop poop into a bucket (I have sand and use a large kitty litter scoop) and deposit that daily into my compost pile, which is also connected...

7 eggs out of 9 hens...not bad for a Michigan winter!

We just got our Brinsea Mini Advance, we won it in a contest...so eggcited to try it out! My last incubator was a wooden box with a sponge, so this is quite an upgrade. LOL

I made an egg bake. Crumble cooked, drained pork sausage in the bottom of a 9X5 pan, top with backyard eggs, various shredded cheeses, and tator tots. Salt and pepper to taste. Bake at 350 until done. Served with Siracha. Mmmmm good

58 here in Michigan........in JANUARY. It's just not right.
