Hey everyone!
I am currently doing an experiment, and am asking some questions to see what others think about music. If you could answer a few questions, I would appreciate it! :)
What kind of music do you listen to? List a style or two, artist, and a song!
Do you think the music you listen...
I found one of my hens outside my 5-ft tall chicken run with it's neck and head gone. I was out of town, can't remember if I saw it in the run when I got back or if it happened while I was gone...
Any idea on what got it?
I was taking care of my chickens today and noticed that one of them is really lethargic. Stands in the run with it's eyes closed. It has a lot of bird droppings on it's rear end. Would that be the problem? I've never had this happen before.
Thanks!
I brought eggs in from the coop this morning, and after sitting on the counter they are damp on the outside. Should they be refrigerated? Are they fine to eat?
Thanks!
There was a gap in the fence/gate that my dog slipped through. One chicken is hurt really bad. It's chest/neck area is pretty torn up. Some of it's insides are visible and slightly hanging out.
Do I kill the chicken? Or is there something else I can do to save it?
I have some really old Rhode Island Red's. Will the meat be tough?
I'm also thinking about doing meat birds, but I don't like the idea of having chickens that can't walk after a couple of weeks... Is there a breed that can still walk around until butchering?
Thanks! :)
I have a pair of Carhartt boots, and they WERE waterproof until I managed to put a hole in one of them today using an axe. So just a warning to everyone, be careful when using an axe!!!!
Have you ever fixed holes in boots before? How? What do you think I should do?
Thanks!
Hello! I have two dogs, and I live on a busy highway. How can I keep the dogs from wandering down to the highway or onto a neighbors property? What do you do? We have 10 acres, so it would be expensive to fence. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks!
What happens if eggs freeze?
How often should I get the eggs from the coop?
How will I know if they froze after they thaw?
Can eggs sit on the counter after being cold outside, or do they need to be refrigerated?
Thanks for answering the questions you know the answer to! :)
i have left over hog feed after taking my pigs to the butcher...about 400lbs! Yeah, I didn't do the calculations right.
I read some other threads on here and I think seems the main difference is more protein and corn in hog feed and more calcium in chicken feed.
Would it be okay to feed my...

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread, I couldn’t find a better one. :)
So how do you make the most money with chickens? Meat, eggs, selling chicks, raising chicks until they start to lay and then sell them, show birds, whatever... Which one brings in the most profit?
(Currently I have 3 black...
i left about 2 dozen eggs out overnight that I had washed. They haven't been refrigerated. Are they safe to eat?
And I used cold water to wash them...:he:hmm
How do you wash your eggs? Assuming you wash them at all.:)
I am starting a blog for teenagers and can't think of a good photo/logo for the front page. It is about defying low expectations and skipping the teenage years. :)
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Building a chicken run. I am getting frustrated because all the t posts this and turn and lean over as I put them in the ground and all the other fences I have seen are perfectly straight and the t posts are twisted to the side.
How do you keep t posts from twisting hole pounding?
Thanks!
I am getting baby chicks soon!! I have an open bag of chick feed left over from last year. Is it okay to use it? Should I feed it to my hens? Should I throw it away?
Thanks!
My brown leghorns have frostbite on their combs. Its yellow, I think purple pink, and some black. What should I do?!?!?! How can I keep it from going down the whole comb? Its covers just about all of the points on the comb, but hasn't reached the base yet. Also, how do I tell if their feet start...
I have RIR's, brown leghorns, a rhode island white, cinnamon queen, and black links. It's getting down to below 0* F sometimes so I wanted to know what to do, or if I should do anything.
Thanks! :)
I am wondering how many people on BYC own keurigs.

How long have you had it?
What kind of water do you use? ( hard, softened, distilled, tap, well water, etc.
Thanks!
