SBEL acting sick, not sure why

My daughter's chicken(the white one) has been acting sick the last few days. She seems to be doing a little better today (walking around and eating) but she is still not her normal self and she still has her wings drooping. No blood in poop. She is not egg bound. I'm not sure what is wrong. I...

Building new coop&run, questions about electric fencing.

My 2x3 welded wire is dipped in a black pvc coating, will that still have the same danger level or will the coating help neutralize that?

Building new coop&run, questions about electric fencing.

The welded wire is buried 6-"12" deep around the entire run depending on the slope of the yard. As far as chickens being pulled through the wire....they would all be in the coop at night and during the day I would think they would be smart enough to back away from the fence, or retreat to the...

Building new coop&run, questions about electric fencing.

I am building a new run that's attached to my old shed and turning it into a coop. That being said I hear all different kinds of things being used to keep chickens in and predators out. My major threats are stray dogs, opossum, raccoon, and maybe fox. Before I knew what I was doing we had 3...

Take a look at my eggs and tell me what you see...

First time incubating, and shipped eggs to boot. 7 eggs, this is day 6. I noticed air pockets and 3 eggs with dark spots. No obvious veins but I'm no expert. Did not see any blood veins. Anyone see anything or can tell me any additional info from pics? These are sebright bantam eggs. TIA...

    Garaging young birds

As far as crates go, I have an unlimited amount. I have plenty of room to add them together as they get older and need more space. I guess as far as heat goes I am thinking wrong in trying to heat the whole crate instead of only giving them a small space to warm up when they need it. Chickens...

    Garaging young birds

Granted they are only 12 days old, but when I removed the heat lamp from the brooder inside my house which stays at 72 degrees, for just 5 minutes to take it into the garage, I came back inside and the chicks were huddled together like they were freezing. Should I just keep dialing the temp...

    Garaging young birds

I have 4 chicks, crate is from my wife's work that they use to transport machines in, I just modified it a bit. Reason I only cut the one side of the top open and nothing else is because I am trying to trap as mich heat as I can inside the box since it will be MUCH cooler in the garage than...

    Water question.

The surface area would be the same, just deeper water. It does have a humidity setting which I believe it regulates on its own.
