All about ducks-- duck owners please chime in

Everyone, I'm considering getting a duck. I need some expertise on the subject, though. First question is, where is an inexpensive place to get a diaper? Next question is, is it at all possible to keep my duck happy without another duck? It will be kept with chickens, and will be a cherished...

    Loud wheezing/sneezing/hiccuping hen?

My little white rock hen was fine all day long, and I let her out for dinner time this evening and she started wheezing or sneezing. She kept repeatedly doing this, with only a few seconds between sneezes; the poor girl. What is this? It's quite loud, almost like a hiccup! Should I be worried?

    Wanted: Red golden Pheasant chick

Hi, Is there anyone in AZ that sells red golden pheasant chicks and eggs? Better yet, sexed chicks? I'd rather it be pick-up than shipping the bird; too many risks invlolved knowing that I only want one bird. I'm not interested in driving for two hours up and two hours back; so if you're all...

    Pheasants-- what are they like?

Pheasant owners, I need your opinions! I'm buying a HUGE coop/hutch/cage today, and I'm thinking about which birds to keep in there. I'm considering pheasants (likely to be ringneck or possibly golden), and I want to know a few things from your personal experience. - Are they friendly, when...

Please help me; I've had so much drama with these birds.

Can someone please help me? My quail are not doing well. They've had endless drama since birth. First, they were born without their mother being there (they are wild birds). Then, I move them outside after about a week of having them. There were too many holes in their 'temporary' coop, and...

HELP! Babies act injured; lifting legs and limping-- now toe pecking?

My baby quail is hobbling around the brooder as if he's injured, and that seems impossible when he lives in a big box. How can a bird get injured in a box? He lifts up his leg, and lays down every now and then. He still eats, but he seems to like eating while laying down? Interestingly...

    Is it neccessary?

I'm curious if I should clip my chicken's wings or not. It wouldn't be too difficult to do or anything, but I'd like to know if it's neccessary. I have a 7ft.(?) tall privacy fence, but close neighbors. The neighbors have really BIG dogs; like huskies, white labs, and something that looks like...

Quail experts-- I need you! I'm confused about what to feed my three Gamble's quail. Sad, lonely hens...

Some of you may know that I was looking to get rid of my two roosters. Someone was kind enough to take them for me (thanks, Laree!), and I'm so grateful. Now there's a new problem. Ever since the boys left, my poor hens don't know what to do with themselves. They don't have anyone to lead them...

Someone may want to make this a sticky...

I pulled up some links and lists to help some newbies out there who are looking into parrot owning, and those who already own a parrot and want to ensure the best and safest life for their bird. The list of safe woods, to be used for perches or toys: Wood / Trees / Bushes Considered Safe for...

Baby quail found--no sight of parents at all! -DEVESTATING UPDATES-

Everyone, I have a problem on my hands. I found about 7-8 baby Gambel's quail in my front yard, and no parents anywhere. I stayed outside for about 10-15 minutes straight; looking for their parents. No sight of them, it's getting late, and they would surely die if they were alone out there all...
