Thank you,
and honestly,
I’ve been prepping myself for the ultimate death. It’s making me quite upset. I will be arranging a necropsy for sure since I have no idea what I’m working with and the better knowledge of what it is will help in the longer run.
She isn’t even pooping a lot and her...
Hello byc’ers I’m hoping you can all help -
my buff who is smaller than her hatch mates has been showing some worrying signs and has me freaking out right now.
I noticed yesterday she was in the nesting box for longer than her normal time. She had poop in it which is unusual, and on her (it’s...
I trimmed them down all the way.
Her droppings are normal. She's always had an extra fluffy butt and seems to every other couple of months has some droppings in them and they typically wipe away pretty easily with a towel.
They did have a few says inside the run (3 to be exact) due to rain...
Yes, after I realized her slightly unfluffy butt was an attraction I put her back under the dryer then no one else came to her after that.
She’s always had some sort of degree of some poop stuck under her butt even as a pullet and I’ve been pretty quick to get it.
From what I’ve seen what the internet says mites look like I don’t see them on the back of her neck or feet. I have black backyard sand snd coop sand so it wiped away with my hand what she did have a patch of.
I did let her down and two other hens went after her butt.
It’ was very rainy...
I have an almost 1 year old EE when I bent down to pet I noticed she had some dropping’s stuck to her butt so in she went for a bath.
I trimmed all the feathers back affected and washed really well with soap. And it’s looks bruised/bloody.
I sprayed vetrycin on it and have her wrapped up in...
🤣 I am just surprised how much they’re eating currently. I’m not really upset about the price because I’m lucky I can afford it.
Ps everything is legit dead in my yard currently not a single thing green
I honestly can't even believe it. I go in between a local feed and TSC but..it feels like i'm always SOMEWHERE buying food. I have an almost 8 year old and 12 year old. If it's not for them it's for chickens it feels like right now.
Wait till they squat. I give it about 4 weeks max until they lay in my own experience. The whole pubic bone trick is..not as definitive for me as they squat was. I was out in the yard while the ladies were doin' their thing and i surprised an EE and she squatted and I previously haven't seen her...
I have thoroughly enjoyed this. As I d on't have a purple mattress..and my husband may divorce if he wakes up to a chick peeping between my boobs 😂 (he is a no chicken allowed FOR ANY REASON in the house type of guy).
I still had 10 lbs give or take of all flock as I bought it Dec. 20th.
then I added the 40 lbs on top of it so that makes sense!
Thank you for clarifying that!
I purchased a bag of Dumor organic layer pellets January 1st. It's now TWO weeks since I purchased it and I just put the last bit into the feeder today and bought a new bag this afternoon. I probably won't refill their (12 ladies who are all laying except 1 lone lady which is a SLW) feeder until...
Hey everyone an update -
ALL MY BUFFS now are laying hard shell eggs again. I used small pet select (REAL) oyster shells, and dusted some of their treats with crushed oyster shell dust along with the fact they're all almost all on layer feed. Maybe it was a fluke? they all started laying in...
