    Not laying any eggs

I thought they were not too old ,,,,,,but was not sure. They have a 20'X20" open run plus a 8"X10" coop. The open run has got allot of overgrowth over it ,blocking the sun,, but I didn't think it was enough to make a difference. And we let them out free range at least a few days a week...

Chickens are locked in the coop now, because of garden.

I don't really have any mulch. But they like to dig in the dirt. I think once the plants get bigger it will be OK. As far as eating them. Then again ,,once the tomatoes,,veggies are growing they are in danger. I noticed the longer they are out in the day,,the farther they wander. And...

    Is chicken wire good enough?

Quote: Oh,,I can be convinced,,,but when people start saying chicken wire is like yarn and their chickens can bust through it,,or their dog just runs right through it. I'm not a believer,,,sorry!!! I'm no city boy,,and have been around animals my whole life. I've had some experiences with...

Quote: Ok,,first link shows a hole in chicken wire and many responses say it looks human made,,,or sabotaged. Who knows. Sure would be nice to see a close up picture of that. Second link ,,,pictures are not opening ,,or a dead link for me. I'll say this again,,if there is a weak link...

Quote: I found a thread on here from 2008 and it was 6 pages long on this same topic. I read the whole thing. Most said chicken wire is like paper,,without any first hand experience,,,, and 1 went as far as to say their rooster got mad and they watched it kick and peck a hole through chicken...
