That's what I was looking for!! Thank you! I've got Blue Splash marans as well. It's rather interesting to see the color variations and what comes out of it.

    Blue Cuckoo Marans

Yeah. It's the genetics part I'm looking for. I've got quite a few Cuckoo hens, and there is definitely a difference between the two roosters in color and pattern. Just looking for any information on them. I may just call one of the hatcheries that carries them. Thank you though :)

    Show off your Easter eggers!

Americaunas first pic. Hooty and Eddie. Easter Egger 2nd pic. I have several Easter Eggers I just hatched from my flock, so I'll add more pics when they grow up Americaunas are purebred, Easter Eggers are hybrids. So for those that keep posting they're the same, that is incorrect.

    Blue Cuckoo Marans

I have a rather large Blue Cuckoo Marans Rooster. There is very little to next to no information on this bird after scouring the net. Does anyone have any sources or more info on this breed? I've had him for a year now, and he's turned out to be the best rooster. I have quite a few regular...

How many times have you candled the eggs? I candled at Day 10, and day 18. I would wait an extra day or so.

    Humidity issue during lock down

I just did my first hatch Sunday night. We lost power for 5 hours Saturday morning. And I thought all was lost, but I remembered My broody hens get up during the day, so they're not on the nest. I didn't see movement until after the power came back on. Had one hatch a day early! After the...

    Egg production lately

The big freeze pretty much knocked my production down to 0 from 210 a week at peak. I average about 3 or so a day now. But, I don't use light or supplemental heat. I think people have sky is falling syndrome....

I would too lol. I've got too many now, I've got a bunch that are laying after the little break. I just picked her up, so hopefully when the light picks up she'll start laying.

    1 chicken left to Identify

I've got a few Splash Americaunas and you can tell in the cheeks. They look like little owls to me. Me being color blind I have a hard time seeing the colors on the face for this one. If it's an Egger that's fine by me. :)

    1 chicken left to Identify

Unfortunately they aren't the same. I have a few Americaunas, and you can tell the difference between the 2. Americaunas are purebred where as eggers are not. I've never had an Egger before so this one threw me off lol.

Was given this hen last week. I was told Americauna, but she looks way different than the Americaunas I have.

    Blue Cuckoo Marans?

Need help identifying this guy. I believe he comes from a Blue Cuckoo Marans. I picked up a few hens and a rooster from a flooded farm. This rooster is huge! I know the hens are a cross of Lavender Orpington and Cuckoo. But, I'm not 100% sure on this guy. Any help much appreciated
