Well... It all depends on what you are going to use it for. You don't have to load up the Hova.. I only had 20 eggs in it. But it would hold 42 if you so desired... I look at it this away.. I wouldn't trade my Brinsea, nor my hova. But if I was to order some expensive, lets say, White Sussex...
No.. The Brinsea I didn't noticed any weird air sacs, of course it could have been the luck of the draw..lol.
Questions that remain, with answers.
1. Why did the Brinsea take soo much longer to hatch?
Good question.. Only answer is the temps could have been a little off. 1 degree over 18...
I'm Sorry, I didn't see your post.. I'm getting old..
Yes.. I did notice in my Hova that some of the sacs were kinda weird looking, not the well defined air sacs that you are used to seeing. One infact was really deep on two sides, and that egg was a stopper around day 15 or so. I did have...

This is a GENIUS idea! This incubator can be a bit cumbersome when lifting as there is really no place to get a good grip. Let me know how you affix the projected handle. I'd like to do that myself!

Ok.. Hatching is over.. Over all it was an interesting experience, but a very educational one. Out of the total eggs sent 20 were deamed viable after 5 days in the bator. The non fertile eggs were pulled at day 7. Temp variances were almost non existant in the Brinsea, however in the 1602n...
I went ahead and checked the non pipping eggs in the Brinsea.. Yes.. I know, but I did it in the shower room.. Anyhow.. Candled the 3 non pippers.. one was also a dud, other two didn't even need to check, heard the cheeping when I picked each up.. So.. replaced, and now we wait.
DISCLAIMER...
Just yet another update...
The last two eggs in the Hova are quitters... I candled them and one was obivious quitter, so an eggtopsy showed quit about day 15, the second no motion, so did water test no motion, removed a small portion of the egg around the air sac, found a fully formed chick...
You are quick!!!! Yes as well as I, but there was one amongst all the egg shells, it was a SLW so it was a smaller egg.. Since we are on day 22 as of right now, I will candle and check. I still have one pipped in the Brinsea, so I won't check the remaining eggs in there until after the pip...
Well it's hard to take a pic in the Brinsea because of the way their plastic is made...
I have had 5 chicks hatch so far in the Hova-Bator, 5 eggs left, 3 with pips
I have had 0 chicks hatch so far in the Brinsea, 10 eggs left, 4 with pips
For 12 eggs at a time.. I like both of these...
