Congrats! You can take it off really quick since the other chicks aren't externally pipped yet there's no harm in opening the incubator. If it's still attached to the navel make sure not to pull on anything, you can pinch that and snip it if necessary but it looks like that will fall right off.

That is a good article and also this one has some graphic images but very educational. https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/step-by-step-guide-to-assisted-hatching.64660/ If you get to the point where you think this chick needs assistance I would open from the air cell end and apply...

Lol, sorry I was still typing and didn't see this. So based on what you're seeing with two still internally pipped but not externally pipped, I expect that this chick is getting close to starting to zip but not quite there yet. It's not running late based on how the rest of your hatch is...

Sorry, I didn't explain that well. It's longer than 24 hours when dealing with upsidedown pips. The little one is breathing fine so I wouldn't rush things. I don't step in until I'm down to the last few stragglers in a hatch or seeing a blatant need for assistance. How many chicks do you have...

Since the pip is at the opposite end of the egg you can expect it to take twice as long before it starts to zip because without an air cell at that end of the egg, the chick made both the internal and external pip in one go. It can be a lot less but a max of 24 hours from internal to external...

Have you tried candling yet? To see what's going on in there? What incubator are you using? Dry hatching works well in some incubators but not well in others. That's why I like to ask what incubator people are using before I offer advice. I've used many different incubator brands in the same...

Ok good, if there are plenty of other chicks hatching it's not likely related to humidity or sticky chicks. Hopefully this chick hatches well too! At this point you would just need to wait, hopefully there isn't so much fluid that the little one aspirates. In some cases there could be bacteria...

This does looks uncharacteristically wet at the pip location but there isn't much that can be done before they have finished absorbing everything. What incubator are you using? What was your humidity at through incubation? Have any chicks hatched?

When you say that it's struggling, what are you seeing in person to feel it's struggling? Is it pecking repeatedly at the same spot and making a lot of noise but not rotating? Also how far along is the rest of the hatch? Mostly finished and down to a few stragglers or just getting started?

SIT ON YOUR HANDS MAM! 😆 😘 I already answered in the other thread but just in case you see this first. NO TOUCHY! lol When you see a pip at the opposite end of the egg it's easy to get concerned and feel like they're taking too long to hatch because they actually ARE taking longer to hatch from...
