I do but it would be spring. They are a project pen for making Blue Partridge and I don't have a reg partridge cock just blue partridge so 50/50 on color... well I think I have a blue hen so might get some splash too.
Dick Horstman.... not sure if he is selling any this year or not.
I have his stock and am using them to make Blue Partridge (5th or 6th generation into them). I will have some in the spring I am sure. Not laying right now.
He also has Silver Penciled Rocks too.
My rocks are my best layers next to WL. Eggs are not as big as others but they lay almost everyday. If you cross a RIR cock with a BR you will get black sex links.
I have never hard of that color in Rocks. Do you mean silver penciled plymouth rocks?
This is a SL Wyandotte does she look like this?
Or does she look like this a Penciled Rock pullet.
What is a SLP? I am not familiar with that acronym.
I don't find my Rocks to be especially broody. I don't let chicken hatch chicks I just can't accommodate all the broodies. Just don't let her have eggs she will give up eventually. I have broken them a few ways. once I just took her out...
I was looking over the birds in the growout pens and found my FIRST BLUE PARTRIDGE PULLET! She is so Pretty that blue bleeding through that red I can't wait till she grows up! 4 crosses but I can finally see the results! I will get pics this week..... I hope.
Doms have a ROSE Comb. Pea combs look totally different. Rose combs will have spikes on them or bumps (looks different in different breeds.
That bird looks like a Dom with a rose comb.
