Remove the HN's and apply some food grade silicone and put them back in, but not as tight... should work... OR tap the holes with a 1/8" pipe tap to add some threads... I used the tap on PVC pipe to put the nipples in...
Demonstrate 15 times a day if necessary..... Hold a chick under the nipple and drip water into it's beak... over and over and over... then grab the nearest chick that has been watching and do it again.....
after the move they need electrolytes to reduce the stress...
The only thing I can tell you is my 7 chickens have drank about 1 gallon per day, for the last 4 months I have had them... hot or cold weather... So, that's about 1 pint each...
You may have been losing more water with the old system... dripping on the ground... hard to say for sure...
Here is what I have done for outside access to feeders..... A pipe with a cap and nipples added would work for waterers....
The upper feeder is for adding treats to the coop....

And it's all plugged into the Thermo Cube.... temp controlled.... so it don't run all the time...
On the subject of water..... My 7 birds drink 1 gallon of water per day.... BUT... this is the desert and we have low humidity... And their run is totally covered in tin roofing so the run is dusty dry.... no rain can get to the ground... no grass grows.... they eat alfalfa hay freely...
Does Rich sell the horizontal nipples..... or a different brand..... just curious.... so we are all on the same page....
I tried a 3/8 drill and the holes was a little small and the nipple leaked... went to an 11/32 drill and it worked perfect....
I was drilling into 1" thin wall PVC...

I had to trip the nipple waterer so it dripped water while the chickens were watching, about 4 times... didn't take long and they figured it out... If they have never seen a nipple waterer, they may not figure it out... they will need help...
