The eyes peeked out from an old drainage ditch near the swamp, watching Phillip and Sera. The creature was visible as a pale blue haze in the dim light.

There was a small splash in the swamp, and the creature darted over to the far side, where it continued its tune, but so that now Synge could not hear it over the sound of the rain. The clouds began to part in the sky. A rainbow was faintly visible on the horizon.

Large raindrops fell onto the leaves, and seemed to dissolve into a thin sheet as soon as they touched down. A small frolicking action was seen in the swamp, as if whoever was there was enjoying themselves.

The mysterious small creature in the swamp let out what sounded like a small cough. There was an infinitisemally tiny "gallump" on the murky surface, and whoever it was, had gone, leaving only a few bubbles floating atop the brown liquid.

The eyes darted from reed to reed, disappearing momentarily just to pop up again several metres away. If one's eyes were sharp, a small blue flash could be detected also. The wind whistled among the reeds, although in a welcoming manner. The swamp bubbled cheerfully.

A pair of eyes tracked Synge's movements from the shelter of a swamp.

She pointed to the towering mountain a little ways behind her. "That one. It erupts approximately every three years. The weather patterns we've been seeing recently are indicative of another one."

Garnet raised an eyebrow. "I was only stating the general concensus, I'm sure there are people out there very knowledgable about gems." She examined the wisps of smoke coming out from Llama's tail. "Suits you then."

"I'm Garnet," she said, a small puff of fire emanating from her tail. "You know, the gem nobody's ever heard of before." :P

"The smoke will be visible from a distance, that's for sure," Garnet agreed.

Garnet scratched her chin. "We could use that as a sort of signalling system. Fire types gotta stick together, huh?"
