Sorry, I don't know about broiler, or meat birds, but I did see a thread about feeding them when I searched here under "feeding meat birds." There are threads there which might be helpful.
Cute Chicks! I don't quite understand your question. You do want to use a "Chick Starter" of some kind, and not switch to "regular feed" until the feed package indicates it. Do you plan to slaughter the birds after a couple of months?

Yeah, the suspense is killing me to know if my solo hatch is male or female, and since it is from imported English Orp lines, I have had no luck feather sexing with this breed, but I am still looking anyway.
Didn't keep me from trying, Orphingtons, :D and yeah...I was wrong completely last hatches. (and ended up with 6 roos and one hen.) I think the produciton birds were bred to be easy to feather sex, and some of the heritage breeds may just not work with the technique.
