Ours had plastic 1/8 inch thick panels that are slid into the frame work. Problem comes in where everything has to be perfectly square in order to slide in.

Lawn clippings from landscapers gets extremely hot at the start. Also very smelly. I don’t know much about manures but I’ve read they can be effective. Timing would be very important I think
