Ours were very friendly. They didn't like to be held much, but would stay with you most of the time that you are outside. They forage very well, but didn't mind eating feed. They love to roost in the trees for shaded naps. My dad would carry our roo on his shoulder. Ours led the chicken greeting...
My family ordered 1 Blue Andalusian cockerel and they gave us two of them. They are super cute as chicks and Strikingly handsome Roosters. I saw another one locally and it wasn't as nice looking; turn out that they were not from McMurray.
I am thinking Dominique. It looks like it will have the rose comb. Only time will tell. I tried to upload a picture of my three baby Dominiques that are 4 weeks today, but my phone/site was not having it.
I didn't think that was one of the rare/exotic breeds. I guess that they are sticking to just giving mysteries. Did you get a female? If so enjoy the eggs.
I am really not sure. My Cuckoo Marans from McMurray are 4 weeks and are dark like your darker bird. My Dominigue has had slower barring. I have not ever raised a Barred Rock, and am not sure of their features while chicks. I only know that the males are lighter than the females. I am sure that...
Thank you. This helped a bunch. I will run downstairs to check after I get my kids ready this morning. Thank you so much. Now I can concentrate on these mystery chicks.
They labeled two of the free ones, but we were missing some that stood out to use because we know the breeds. We got a few new birds and they gave us some birds in place of the missing ones. I think they thought that we would not catch it, or something.
Ugh! Blast you McMurray! This is so complicated because they gave me 2 of these. She looks exactly like the Rose Comb Brown Leghorn Chick. I was suppose to only have one of those and 3 Speckled Sussex. But because we only go 2 Speckled Sussex we may have one Rose Comb and we could possibly be...
Thank you. The face looks more like the first one. I will probably be renaming someone this morning lol. Rj is definitely a male. My brood is 2 weeks old today. Now I have to figure out what the other one is. The crazy part is McMurray has kind of thrown me off, by shorting me an Australorp. The...
We do have one that we do not know what it is. I guess this is what happens when you order a mixed bunch. My husband and I are guessing Partridge Rock, but if she is ; what is the chick that we have been calling Partridge Rock? And we have even named the one that we assumed was a PR Roxy
Sure is a Blue Cochin! The free one that I had, they labeled them. These two were just in the box, and we're not labeled on the packing slip. I hoping for a breed that I did not have.
