    ADOR1 Automatic Coop Door?

I'm using sand, but I would say mount it far enough above the expected litter level that the threshold won't get blocked with debris, or else clean it regularly. What will happen is the door will attempt to close on the debris and the pressure sensor might cause it not to close all the way...

    ADOR1 Automatic Coop Door?

It's hit or miss. I emailed Rod a question a few months ago and never heard back but he appears to have answered others. Calling might be a better bet.

    ADOR1 Automatic Coop Door?

I emailed [email protected] with this question back in March but haven't received a reply yet, I tried again today, but in case I don't get a response: Does anyone know the size of the hex nut used to bolt the motor housing onto the door frame? I need to buy a nut driver to get in there to...

    ADOR1 Automatic Coop Door?

Hey question, if you don't mind me asking, what tool did you use to get to the bottom left nut? Nothing in my tool box is skinny enough to get in there.

    ADOR1 Automatic Coop Door?

Okay so I finally stopped procrastinating this weekend and went to see what I could do to make the door open/close more easily. It has still been opening and closing fully on time every day, but the stuttering on the way down and the straining on the way up was worrying. I took the mounted...

    ADOR1 Automatic Coop Door?

Last night I went to let in a straggler (oops) and noticed that the door was really struggling to open, going very slow, it sounded like the motor was running down. So looks like I need to stop procrastinating and get out there to try and find out what's wrong this weekend.

    ADOR1 Automatic Coop Door?

Yes to be fair to the door, I posted that from day one I had some stuttering when it shut but it has yet to affect the opening and closing of the door at the right times for well over a month now. (Which is why I have yet to go out there and tinker with it to address the stuttering.)

    ADOR1 Automatic Coop Door?

Same here, I used the schematic on the website and it was a perfect fit when the door arrived.

Oooh, thank you! It's nice to have something to try right off the bat. I will check it out this week and get back to you.

    ADOR1 Automatic Coop Door?

Spent the weekend observing the door, it opens and closes at the correct times. I have noticed it judders a little on the way down, I'm going to take a level to it and make sure it's plumb to see if I can clear that up.

    ADOR1 Automatic Coop Door?

Got my door yesterday and installed it that night! The girls were very unhappy with me cutting the metal barn siding with a sawzall in the coop, but they'll get over it. My hole cutting wasn't so pretty but the recessed installation looks great. Going to have a bbq tonight and unleash the hens!

    ADOR1 Automatic Coop Door?

Thanks for the feedback! Hmm, if it's going to be another week and the weather's so nice lately I might just cut the 12"x18" pop door opening and just put a temporary flap on there. So excited I can't wait! I've got the plywood for mounting it cut out and everything.

    ADOR1 Automatic Coop Door?

Well my run is complete, just waiting on the door. I ordered a week ago, anyone know about how long orders are running or should I email the company? Just want to know if I should go ahead and build a temporary door if it's going to be a while.

    ADOR1 Automatic Coop Door?

I think it all depends on the features you're looking for and what you value more, time or money. I work full time and I'm pretty busy even on my off hours so time is valuable to me. That antenna might just be 5 dollars but if I added up the hours and gas spent finding a junk yard, looking for...

    ADOR1 Automatic Coop Door?

I just ordered one on my lunch break, so excited! I have a pole barn with corrugated metal siding, so I'm doing a recessed installation. It will look just like the example on the ADOR1 website, very handy. Anyone know what the average turn-around-time is running on these?
