From my experience, the dot on the head usually indicates Male. I hatched an egg from an Araucana Roo and a Cuckoo Marans Hen. It also had a white dot on his head. It may not always be the case but it has been for me.

She laid 3 eggs, then I changed them to a different coop and run with nesting boxes and she hasn't laid in the past 2 weeks. Hope she starts back soon. So, one is at POL and the other is not quite there yet.

I just got this trio last week. These 2 girls are almost 5 Months old and are already laying. They have not adjusted from the move so no eggs yet.
