One week to the day from the first sign of squatting, I finally got my first egg. My EE Hera laid a beautiful little bluish egg. Best thing is we got to see it happen.

I really wouldn't know.. :( this is my first time owning chickens, but I think the people at the feed store may be right. If you have shells in your dirt and grass and the hens have access to it, you may not, but i am not sure. Hopefully someone with more experience will have an answer.

Congrats on the 1st eggs.. My older girls are between 18-20 weeks, we are not sure exactly how old they were when we actually got them, a few weeks. I check every day.. I cannot wait for my 1st egg. Both my SLW are getting pretty red, and one out of the 2 of my EE's looks a bit redder.. only...
