I thought my silkies would lay first so I have been watching for a few weeks. I was surprised by the brown egg on Monday.
I think they just like to keep us guessing.

Pretty sure between me and my son they probably held off laying due to lack of privacy lol

Congrats to everyone who had eggs this week and first time squats...as for me my pullet, Carry, had the squats and for some reason about 2weeks have gone by and no eggs and now no squats either. I think they like to see me runny in and out of the house to check for eggs because they get treats everytime I come out the back door. I guess they did a good job training me. LOL

Ha ha! Smart chickens! Mine go back and forth between squatting for me and not. My most reliable layer only squats for me a couple days a week.
