Thanks mine has the same hiney look
She has a little copper but its hard to see unless your close up. She has blossomed in the last few months after a juvie molt. She is a little talker now. She did start laying in November but after about 6 eggs stopped. Nice dark egg tho.
Zanjan do you have a back end view of your BCM that's all black? I have a hen that looks like yours but no copper on her neck at all. Just wondering how back view is suppose,to look? And I forgot are the hens suppose to have copper on their neck?
Thanks
I am just a lurker here but wow Walt that first Cornish looks like a tank with his stance.
I always thought Cornish were pure white. I guess it's because I have only seen Cornish x for meat birds.
Ok I will go back to lurking & learning :)
I purchased them from a lady near me who had posted them on Craig's list. I am very pleased with them. They are much happier foraging in the yard then being in the coop. Very vocal towards visitors and very alert to predators. They have also done marvelously in the sub zero temps we have had...
Well they do have yellow legs its just that their run area gets muddy and they have no qualms walking thru the mud and water. No feet problems with the mud as I have been keeping a watch on them.
Here's a pic of their feet after I cleaned them up some. They are like a bunch of little kids...
Ok got a couple pics today. The hens are poofy looking cuz it's only 5 degrees out
Sorry about the poor pics I tried to get them to stay still with corn but......
This is the most recent picture taken Monday
This picture was about a month ago
This picture was taken in November
And this was taken the beginning of August when I brought them home
Thank you Fred. I apologize for the poor qualityof the pictures. A camera phone in the snow with busy hens scratching is a tough combination.
They are about 36 weeks old. All of them have what I think is pinched tails. The one who is showing her fuzzy butt has the largest width in the tail...
*RAISING HAND* Excuse me may I post a picture of the Partridge rocks I have?
After our lessons of pinched tails I want to see if I am correct in my assesment of my hatchery girls. If not its nots problem. Just figured it wouldnt hurt to ask.
Th
Thank you. I keep looking at my hens and they have tails like what you describe as pinched tails. I def like the tails on the NH reds shown here. When I get new ones in spring I would like to get some that are not hatchery stock
