    I have a solution for you: buy chives in a planter (or use any container) and burry it. no gopher can fit in or dig small planters.

    our feed contains oregano and it has many benefits. unfortunately it does help with heavy loads of worms we have here. maybe it will help in your climate? wormwood is good and easy to grow.

    I use storage room as coop. there is no room for deep litter. max 1'' space. in another coop I have dirt floor. no need to clean it. I just throw some lime stone from time to time.

    I always put dried herbs in nesting boxes. that helps.

    I can grow anything in winter but not in summer, lol. so I don't need to dry a lot of herbs. I dried some spearmint and lemon balm. as my built coop became smelly I cleaned it and spread those dried herbs. I swear I will never ever have a concrete floor coop again.

    I also have not had luck with many seeds. I prefer to buy small plants and transplant them.

    nothing deters rodents here. they even ate chilly peppers that I was drying.

    I make tisane and also crush some dry mint (and nettle) and mix it with chicken mesh (especially in winter).

    I air dry herbs in a cheesecloth bags (I make them).

    I mix spearmint and lemon balm to make a tisane. it is really good in winter months. you can add some honey too.

    mine look like that now due to heat. as soon as the temperature gets down it will start growing new leaves. I usually cut it down almost to the roots.

    I have a pot with spearmint buried in my garden and it managed to escape. in winter it grows well but we have no or very little frost.

    I find curly parsley just fancy and good for decoration and flat parsley is tasty. at least the way I cook.

    oregano, basil, lavender, rosemary, spearmint, parsley, celeriac, chamomile... I have turmeric in a pot for the first time. I wonder if I will get any rhizomes. no luck with ginger.
