    It takes a little time. It took a few weeks before the flock would accept the minions. I would divided their pen in half so that they can see each other and keep peepers from picking on the new goose. They will eventually become best buddies.

    My gander Frankie was a handful a couple of years ago. We picked him up and held him pretty much like you described. Now when he starts to get a little testy all i have to do is say Frankie, would you like a hug? He then turns around and walks away with his beak in the air.

    Here are two of my ganders. Frankie and Johnnie. They went outside today. It was only 5 degrees F but it was sunny. It has been an improvement from the bitter cold last week. We should get some thawing later this week.

    My brown Chinese goose has a stripe like that across her chest. She must not be all brown Chinese. Her and the brown Chinese gander hatched a couple of babies awhile ago. They are just starting to get feather so it will be interesting to see if they have any white on them.

    I have noticed the same thing with mine. Our 3 white chinese babies have worn spots on their little beaks. It might be because they are very nosey. The brown geese don't seem as curious.

    You are lucky that they are so tame. Frankie is our tamest. He will come up and talk to us but he does not like to be held. Part of the problem is that between the ducks, chickens and geese there is nowhere that is safe to sit.

    My white chinese born in April have knobs already. Females develop knobs later than the males and have shorter necks. The girls also have deeper voices than the maleswhich have a high pitched honk.

    Eggbert has a sibling. Mom is still sitting on her nest so there might be another. Dad took his babies out for a tour of the shed today while mom stayed on the nest.
