planning on aquaponics, was going to do it last winter but life happened, this spring went and built a new chicken coop, so now the plan is to take summer off and research a plan for a system then try and get it running.
my grandparents have a farm in the middle of now where, and it floods most years into a marsh/swamp, hoping that its a good spot for harvesting cattails, (its in the prairies), but its full of muskrats and ducks when its wet.
also this system is going to be indoors, due to the fact i live in Canada (so like no growing for like 7 months of the year outdoors and two if i can get a tilapia permit they have to be raised indoors.
going with aquaponics, i think in the next week or so planning on ordering seeds for the system and designing it in the next little while. or more making one.
still have to talk with the family but am hoping to go with an IBC tote aquaponic system some time in the future. you know just a small system to dip your toes in the water :)
not stupid at all. i will try my best at explaining the two.
hydroponics is pretty much grow veggies in water (i think hydroponics means water working) the idea here is using rich water the plants sit there roots in(which is full of chemicals by the way) to produce plants, its almost 100%...
