I use for my feed a big trash can with wheels it's sturdy and nothing can get into it like rats and mice would take a year for a rat to get a hole in that thing and I cover the lid with a block so nothing can get in that way and I do have some inside/ outside cats that just love mice!! One loves...
I figured I would have to do that a few days lol but when I built the new coop and run last year the old coop was nothing left but the base and they sat on that thing for days i took and put them in that new coop many a night before they would stay same with the new nest boxes I made new ones...
I have been every evening putting my pulleys in the coop because she hey are at the door of the run crying for me! This is day 3 and still they look for me every evening I'm hoping to rid that asap
Well I'm happy that they protect the coop like that they still need to know my sounds and get used to me but that will come they are very devoted to the hens lol
I lost my Roos in January to dogs and now have 3 Americana Roos that every time I come out to the coop at night they come out to protect the hens love the protection tbey give
They are a lot faster and a lot more energetic than I was and they spread it out faster than I could take it in my wife just laughed at me. Lol guess I'll have to sneak in at night but then the roosters I have now will Flogg me lol
Tried to clean up the run and take measurements but that didn't go well each time I tried to take up a pile the hens would run behind me and spread it out everywhere they had a blast and I lost that battle!!
I'm old and hard of hearing anything with a box of chicks sitting next to the incubator lol so that's out lol I have been so worried about this hatch I set it up and n my bedroom ( true sign of addiction)
