The Urban part comes from them being fed or eating human food. Up at lake Tahoe, the Bears do not hibernate. It has to do with the abundant food source they have there. Is there a Dump or someplace where the bear gets food? That explains the lack of hibernation--not the weather.

Bears that go "urban" do not hibernate. It is a sad disruption of their natural cycle I suppose.

An Aunt of mine could not get rid of fleas. She used the nematodes and they were gone after one treatment. I have used nematodes to control army worms in the lawn too.

You have to get them in the dirt too-- beneficial nematodes will eat the larvae in the dirt--cuts a part of their life cycle. A lot of people miss this one.

Our low was 37 yesterday and the high was in the low 50s. This is too cold for many in Davis, CA where I work. I say one Lady Shivering and walking like it was 20 below...Wearing several layers too. It was sad to see.

It looks like we will have a different winter temperature wise this year because of the La Nina ocean currents: I am on the boarder between >33% and >40% temperature increase odds. I hope I get to save on the natural gas bill this winter!
